Sastha Srinivasan
PhD Student
I am currently pursuing a PhD at the Center of Excellence in Human-Centered Computing and the Department of Computer Science at IIIT-Delhi, co-advised by Prof. Pushpendra Singh (IIIT-Delhi) and Prof. Mohan Kumar (RIT, NY, USA). My research focuses on leveraging AI/ML and sensing technologies to enhance public health understanding and promote proactive health and wellbeing, particularly for collective care, with a vision to drive meaningful social impact. With over 3 years of hands-on experience, I previously served as a Programmer Analyst at both Sara’s Inc. and Unanu, where I led the development of cloud-based products, designed analytics dashboards, and deployed ML/AI pipelines that streamlined operations and delivered cost reductions across various industries. I hold a master’s degree in computer systems engineering, specializing in IoT, from Northeastern University, where I worked under the mentorship of Prof. Peter O’Reilly. During my time at Northeastern, I also interned at Bose Corporation, contributing to the development of an automated security testing suite for smart home speaker systems.
In addition to my primary research, I have a keen interest in affective computing and exploring how AI can be applied within educational contexts. When I’m not immersed in research, you’ll find me enjoying strategy games, tabletop RPGs, and reading with a cup of cocoa in hand—or off traveling and discovering new places.
